A list of places such as articles or podcasts where I’ve been interviewed or quoted extensively, sorted by year.
2024:
- I was quoted extensively in the Twin Cities Geek article “Murderbot Is Getting an Apple TV+ Series, and Some Fans Have Mixed Feelings,” in which I discussed the casting of Alexander Skarsgård, a white man who is neither openly queer nor openly neurodivergent, to play Murderbot, a character who has no gender, does not experience sexual or romantic attraction, has many neurodivergent traits, and comes from a world where virtually no one is white. While I was quoted several times, this quote sums up my stance: “I think the most problematic part of Skarsgård’s casting is his race, followed by his gender. While I wish someone openly neurodivergent had been cast for the role, I think that’s less important.”
2019:
- I was interviewed on episode 4 of the podcast A OK, a podcast dedicated to discussing asexual and aromantic experiences. My episode wound up being titled “The Sexual Side of Fanfiction,” but the conversation covered a variety of other topics as well.
